ABOUT THE OWNER
My Story,
My name is Sam, I was born in Australia, Melbourne, from Greek parents. My grandparents and parents started selling Soft serve ice cream from the van in 1972, going from street to street it was a massive treat for everyone. Gradually the vans started to work with the council and occupy beach sites all along from Portsea to St Kilda. This is about the time when I started helping out on the weekends. From then on I attended numerous events all over Melbourne and sometimes regional Victoria. Events of all types like Moomba, Melbourne Show, VFL football ground exclusive rights, Caulfield and Sandown races including the Sandown 500 car race and other events for many years serving the public at the races. The Caribbean market was another regular place of trade. Since 1980 family have operated at the market, I was helping my grandparents from 1984 onwards when my school holidays were on. I took over working the market from 1995 after year 12 until the markets termination in 2020. We were loyal for 40 years to the Caribbean market. Other areas I started to trade was schools and universities. The regular visits to the same schools show me how pleased the teachers, principals and students were with my service, product and price. Other areas that were targeted where shows and festivals.
MY AIM
I always aim to provide the best I possibly can when it comes to our business. For me, it is important the client is pleased in every way.
My motto is “the same way I like to be served food or ice cream when I go out, is the same way I want to please my customers and clients”. By this motto, I have thoroughly enjoyed my business. I get to put smiles on faces of kids, moms, fathers, grandparents, show organisers, major caterers and whoever I deal with. The trust is there with everyone I serve, this is the reason, year after year, I have worked with Major catering firms in Melbourne, at schools, markets. They know I will deliver every time.
MR WONDER WHIP VAN
The most important advantage my ice cream van has, is that I have two separate ice cream machines. Just in case one ice cream machine fails at a busy event, my back up machine is there to serve. No other van in Melbourne has this setup and the advantage of two ice cream machines. Even when the demand is there for a massive event (20 thousand plus people), we can serve ice cream quickly.
I was born in this business, I support my family with this business and it’s in my blood to serve Melbourne ice cream. With all my history and my powerhouse van, I am ready to deliver at any event, small or large. And most importantly, to make everyone smile ????????????
Our History
Some of our past and present events have been with leading catering firms such as: Peter Rowland Catering, Moonee Valley Racing Club, Caulfield & Sandown Racing Clubs, Spotless Catering, AVS Catering and many more. They work with us because we are the best.
We are chosen to attend many events with a variety of different councils. We specialise at implementing the councils requirements for large scale events. These include the Melbourne Show and St Kilda Fair fair to name a few.
Our ice cream trucks have delighted guests at massive events, such as Universities and School Events, Markets, Twilight Markets, Car Shows, Country Shows, Field days, Corporate Events and more. We have more experience than any of our competitors.
